Bringing together leading maritime figures, marina operators and start-ups from all over the world, and focusing on sustainability, the Monaco Smart and Sustainable Marina Conference was held in September, with the participation of Prince Albert of Monaco and led by Monaco Yacht Club and Monaco Marina Management. Attracting companies from around the world, the conference provides a unique networking environment on a global scale, bringing together key players, investors, marinas, architects, manufacturers and innovators to promote the development of environmentally friendly, efficient and user-friendly marinas.

This year, the conference included contest categories for Startups, Scaleups, Marinas and Architects. This contest also highlighted Monaco's perfect blend of luxury and sustainability.

Placing sustainability and globalization at the heart of all its activities, Setur Marinas participated in the contest with its Ayvalık marina special project. Before the contest, a tremendous amount of teamwork was carried out both to fulfill the conditions for participation and to present to the jury.

Süleyman Ercan shared the most important developments about sustainability and marina business regarding Ayvalık Marina at the conference. Our Environmental Manager Gonca Melek Özkan participated in the meeting on waste management. Moreover, Setur Marinas Technical Services Group Manager İlker Öngül took part in the jury representing both our country and Setur Marinas in the session where start-up projects were evaluated. Thus, Turkish maritime industry was represented at every table. Having the opportunity to meet Prince Albert II of Monaco, the team spent two very busy days in Monaco.

And of course, we can't end this article without mentioning the mesmerizing atmosphere of Monaco! Known as a symbol of luxury and prestige, with a small surface area but leading the world in the field of marina business and yachting, the Principality of Monaco is home to the world's most prestigious ports such as the famous Monte Carlo Port and Fontvieille Marina. These ports are the perfect haven for luxury yachts. The annual Monaco Yacht Show attracts the most successful players of the sector from all over the world.

We are very happy to have been a participant this year in a contest that we had only visited last year. Setur Marinas has thus once again demonstrated its leadership in the Turkish maritime industry with the emphasis it places on sustainability and innovation. We will continue improving our premium brand perception in the marina sector and strengthening our presence in the international market with our sustainability projects and technological innovations.
