Known for his countless philanthropic activities, as well as his work in the field of culture, particularly in marine conservation, Rahmi M. Koç was presented with the "Cultural Heritage Award" at this year's Legacy Award ceremony organized in Istanbul.
Organized annually by the England based Boat International Media, the latest of the World Superyacht Awards ceremony was held at the Çırağan Hotel in Istanbul. Rahmi M. Koç, Honorary Chairman of Koç Holding and Chairman of the Board of Directors of RMK Marine, was given the "Legacy Award" at the ceremony, which is one of the Neptune Awards given in 16 different categories and presented as a special category for supporting yachting and maritime culture. Gürkan Türkeş, General Manager of RMK Marin, received the award on behalf of Rahmi Koç at the ceremony.
The award, given to Rahmi M. Koç for his strong passion for the sea, pioneering the foundation of many museums, restoring many abandoned historical boats and creating the entrepreneurial spirit in Turkey in the marina business, took its place alongside other Neptune Awards previously won at RMK Marine shipyard.
We hope that this award will inspire everyone in the development of maritime culture and the protection of the seas.
