Seven Years Later, Same Place: Hasan and Zehra Şirin's World Voyage

Hasan and Zehra Şirin, who went on a world tour with their boat called Kandiba, returned home after seven years.

Returning from the world tour with their 17 and a half meter Amel 55 model sailboat Kandiba, Hasan and Zehra Şirin were greeted with great enthusiasm accompanied by the 10th Anniversary March at the Antalya Marina, where they had departed on April 15. While their relatives, marina personnel, Chamber of Shipping, Coast Guard, Rotary Boat Club attended the reception, sirens of boats and yachts could be heard from everywhere. Thus;

Weighing anchor in Antalya Marina in December 2014 and officially set sail from Turkey on August 10, 2015, Kandiba followed the route Gibraltar, Canary Islands, Caribbean, Panama Canal, Galapagos, French Polynesia, Fiji, Vanuatu, New Caledonia, Papua New Guinea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Maldives, Djibouti, Red Sea and Cyprus in its seven-year cruise.

The first words of Hasan Şirin, who set foot on the land while wearing the shoes he had left behind, were "We saw a lot of things, we got away with what we saw, but if you ask which place is the most beautiful, it is Turkey that is the most beautiful place in terms of coasts and coves and people".

The Şirin couple (and their dog Carlos) completed their tough fight in 2,440 days, despite their engine breaking down in the Red Sea, the pirates they encountered off the coast of Somalia, and many more. Same to our other six boats currently on tour around the world.
