Setur Marinas Now I-REC Certified

Setur Marinas, which provided all of its energy consumed from renewable sources in 2021, received the I-REC International Renewable Energy Certificate developed by International REC Standard Foundation based in the Netherlands.

Setur Marinas, which accelerated its renewable solar energy investments and energy efficiency projects, achieved a significant success in 2021 by supplying all of the electricity it consumed in Antalya, Ayvalık, Finike, Kalamış & Fenerbahçe, Kaş, Kuşadası, Marmaris and Yalova marinas from 100% green energy sources. This success has been documented with the I-REC International Renewable Energy Certificate.

Setur Marinas purchased green energy equal to 12,812 MWH in 2021 and zeroed its Scope-2 electricity indirect greenhouse gas emission values, reducing them at a rate of CO2 equivalent to 5,970 tons. Moreover, it achieved greenhouse gas reduction close to 90% in total Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions from marina operations, compared to 2020.

Stating that they have been working on many topics from energy to recycling for a long time with the philosophy of environmentally friendly marina, General Director of Setur Marinas Emre Doruk considers I-REC International Renewable Energy Certificate as the solid evidence of these efforts. Doruk underlines that Setur Marinas will continue to take pioneering steps in the matters of environment, climate and sustainability in line with their efforts to comply with "2050 Carbon Neutral" goal regarding carbon emissions in Koç Holding's Carbon Transformation Program.
