Marmaris International Culture and Art Festival, which Setur Netsel Marmaris Marina is among the sponsors of, and has been postponed for two years due to the global pandemic, fire and flood disasters, will be held on June 10-26 this year under the theme of "Rise from the Ashes".
Marmaris residents will spend 16 days full of culture with concerts, exhibitions and interviews spread over different venues, and meet with well-known artists in the festival organized by the Municipality of Marmaris and Marmaris Culture and Art Association (MAKSAD). The ancient city of Phoenix in Bozburun, which bears the same name as the Phoenix in mythology, was chosen this year for the festival, in which one less known ancient city is promoted every year. It is planned for the works of the artists to attend the festival, workshops to be carried out, interviews and other activities to have traces of the theme "Rise from the Ashes".

The opening concert of the festival, which centers around classical western music and jazz, will be performed by the Muğla Metropolitan Municipality Orchestra under the conduction of Münif Akalın. "Muğla Türküleri Senfonisi (Muğla Folk Songs Symphony)" arranged by pianist and composer İlyas Mirzayev as part of the festival will be performed by the Festival Orchestra. The "Cahit Koparal International Flute Competition", to which 28 flute artists were invited, will be held at the festival, where the Berlin Deutsche Oper Chamber Orchestra will perform a concert under the baton of Conductor Gürer Aykal. While the trio of jazz artist and pianist Kerem Görsev and the Festival Orchestra will meet with jazz lovers, Boğaziçi Youth Choir will also give a concert. The festival will have surprises for the guests, like Mercan Dede.
In the field of visual arts, an exhibition of Hayati Misman's metal works, oil paintings and engravings, and Ali Herischi's workshop will take place at the festival.
It is aimed that the Marmaris International Culture and Art Festival will become traditional, thereby bringing movement and diversity to culture and art tourism in Marmaris, and gaining international recognition for local values.
It is apparent that days full of spirit await Marmaris, as it used to be.
